A new film, which will open in UK cinemas on 24 November, will focus on the heroic work of the famous Bletchley Park codebreakers.

The Imitation Game, tells the story of the pioneering codebreaker Alan Turing, famous for his work on the Enigma Machine, and his team whose wartime efforts at the decryption centre of Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire have been commended for their role in significantly shortening the Second World War.

Bletchley Park was just one of many country homes that was requisitioned during the war, and it was here that the government based its main decryption headquarters.

The film, which also stars Keira Knightley, has been announced as the opener for the London Film Festival this year.
