Giveaway: Leeds Castle annual family ticket & delicious biscuits

As the incredible edible Gingerbread Castle arrives at Leeds Castle, BRITAIN readers have the chance to win annual tickets and delicious biscuit tin

Teaming up with hand-iced biscuit architects the Biscuiteers, Leeds Castle are unveiling an incredible Gingerbread Castle and Dolls House for their Christmas campaign, open from the 6 to 23 December 2014.

The showcase piece on display for the festive season will be a dolls house interpretation of Leeds Castle, featuring 1930s and Tudor period rooms. Each room contains highly recognisable furniture and paintings from the Castle, all made entirely from hand-iced gingerbread, while the Castle’s Christmas trees dotted around the  beautifully decorated around the Castle, each with delicious Biscuiteers gingerbread decorations to match the history of the room.

The Leeds Castle Gingerbread Castle and Dolls House required eighty eggs, 10kg (1 stone 8lbs) of butter, 10kg (1 stone 8lbs) of sugar and 72kg (11 stone 4lbs) of icing to make. Each model weighs in at around 63.5kgs – that’s almost 10 stone!! In total the Gingerbread Castle and Dolls House took 550 hours to make.

The perfect festive attraction, these gingerbread masterpieces will be on display from 6th – 23rd December 2014 and will form part of Leeds Castle’s exciting Christmas season. Celebrating the magic of the season with plenty of wonderful things to see and do for the whole family, the Castle will offer a Christmas market, real live reindeer and a Gingerbread Quest across the gardens and grounds, amongst others.
