Holiday cottages in Cornwall with sea views
Chynhalls Farm House, Coverack
Nestled within The Lizard Heritage Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Chynhalls Farm House is set on Coverack Headland, near the lovely little Porthbeer Cove, with enviable views out to sea courtesy of the cottage’s decking area and conservatory.
Inside this seemingly compact thatched cottage, which actually sleeps seven, there are plenty of other spaces for family and friends to spread out or gather together: the sitting room, snug and dining room are all elegantly and characterfully furnished and thoughtfully filled with everything you may need. Original beams, fireplaces and impressive antique beds all add to its allure, and the kitchen is equipped with a pantry, oil-fired Aga and an electric oven and hob, so you can cook and bake to your heart’s desire.
We love this bright haven, the ideal place for relaxing in peace and quiet and watching the boats sail by into Coverack harbour.
Upton Mill, Port Isaac
Larger groups will love Upton Mill, which sleeps ten and features gorgeous open-plan living spaces, where everyone can enjoy each others’ company after a day on the beach.
Just five minutes from the beautiful Trebarwith Strand, where surfing and rock-pooling are among the entertainment on offer, you can even enjoy the sight of the sea from the incredible glass-walled decking area leading from the kitchen, or the property’s other patio areas and garden. Polzeath Beach and Daymer Bay are also within easy reach of this big barn conversion base.

Harbour Masters House, Mevagissey
Several window seats and even a roll-top bath make the most of the stunning views over Mevagissey harbour that this former master mariner’s house enjoys.
Harbour Masters House, which sleeps eight, is a smart, modern, light and airy holiday home that is perfectly located south of St Austell nearby all sorts of things to do, from kayak and paddleboard-hire, which you can use to explore the coves from Portmellon beach (within walking distance from the house), to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and fishing trips from the harbour.
French doors from the kitchen lead out onto a Mediterranean-feel private patio, but we really don’t think you’ll be able to resist the pull of the sea, which can be admired from many rooms – including bedrooms – within this spacious, soothingly decorated late Victorian town house.
