Ride your ultimate travel companion this summer, the Skegness Seasiders, a family of 11 individually-named seaside themed character buses, each with their own personality, delivering you to the best family attractions in Skegness.

If you are looking for fun things to do this summer and want a holiday to remember, Skegness is the seaside resort for you, packed with family-friendly attractions, sandy beaches and a plethora of places to eat, it is also home to the much-loved Skegness Seasiders.

The family of open-topped buses, featuring Rocky, Candy, Pierre, Sandy, Salty, Shelly, Rolly, Sunny, Teddy, Sweetie and Milly ride up and down the seafront, adding a touch of something special to any family holiday.

Running throughout the holiday season until October, fares for children to ride on the colourful character buses are just £1 per trip.

Here are our top tips to ensure you make the most of your family time in Skegness:

  1. Children love the Skegness Seasiders and often pick their favourite from the family. With 11 characters to chose from, you could end up waiting for Candy, only for Rocky to make an appearance! But, what better way to encourage travelling on a bus, than to collect badges when onboard. If six or more different badges are collected, they can be taken to the Stagecoach Travelshop at Skegness bus station and exchanged for a Skegness Seasider goody bag packed with Seasider collectables including colouring book, pencils, sharpener and eraser

  1. Make sure you include a visit to Natureland Seal Sanctuary in your stay. It not only does amazing work rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned and injured seals, but offers so much more. Penguins, Meerkats, Alpacas, a tropical aquarium and regular activities for the kids provide a fun time out. The proceeds from your entry fee help fund the fantastic conservation work being done here. You can also take advantage of the 10% off regular entry prices that Stagecoach East Midlands are offering their customers. Simply download your voucher at https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/east-midlands/skegness-seasiders/discounts or pick up a Skegness Holiday Guide packed with discounts from Skegness Bus Station. Use Seasider route number 3 to travel directly to the Sanctuary.

  1. Every year, to coincide with the return of the Skegness Seasiders, a brand new storybook is written, based on the adventures of the character buses; with a percentage of the proceeds going to local charities. A great keepsake for the kids to take back with them after their holiday. Books about the exciting adventures of Rocky, Sandy, Salty and Candy can be purchased from the Skegness travel shop, at the bus station.
