It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for: this morning it was confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged, with a royal wedding planned for spring.
A statement from Clarence House read: “His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.
”The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.”
Prince Harry informed his grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, who last week celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary, plus other close members of the family prior to the announcement. He also received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.
And it seems the couple have the royal seal of approval from Harry’s brother, William, and sister-in-law, Catherine.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said: ”We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.“
The newly engaged couple will live in Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace.
