The charming young prince is two years old today.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been two years since the scenes of jubilation outside St Mary’s hospital in Paddington when it was announced to the waiting media and crowds of well-wishers that the royal baby had been born.
Since then, the charming young prince has warmed the nation’s heart – and welcomed a baby sister.
His most recent outing was at Princess Charlotte’s baptism at the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate earlier in July, which marked the royals’ first public outing as a family of four.
Beautiful photographs of the event, taken by Mario Testino – Princess Diana’s favourite photographer – in the gardens and Drawing Room at Sandringham House, show a smiling and happy prince.
To mark Prince George’s birthday, a lovely new picture taken at the christening was released yesterday.
It seems the young prince is in many ways a typical toddler. Speaking shortly after Princess Charlotte’s christening, the Duke of Cambridge said his new daughter was a “little joy from heaven” and that the two-year-old prince was “a little monkey”.
Prince George’s birthday is to be marked with a special sterling silver £5 coin from the Royal Mint. Just 7,500 coins will be released featuring an image of St George and the dragon by artist Christopher Le Brun.
