The virtual Viking Cruises British Art Prize 2021 exhibition is now open

The inaugural Viking Cruises British Art Prize exhibition is now open online, after Covid restrictions made organising a physical exhibition impossible

Hosted by Artists & Illustrators, the UK’s most popular magazine for practising artists, in collaboration with ArtSteps, the exhibition takes place in a bespoke, virtual gallery space that visitors can walk around taking a closer look at each of the top 50 artworks and finding out more information from the artists.

The exhibition, which runs until the 20 June 2021, also has information on how to purchase any of the artworks which are on sale.

After browsing the entries that made it onto the prize’s shortlist, viewers can ascend to the first floor of the exhibition to discover the artworks that were awarded the top prizes by the judging panel.

Congratulations go to Lotta Teale, Richa Vora and Steve Strode for winning first, second and third place respectively.

The winner of the People’s Choice Prize 2021, however, is still to be revealed. For this, the prize organisers asked the public to vote for their favourite from the 50 shortlisted artworks. The result will be announced in the summer issue of Artists & Illustrators magazine, which goes on sale in shops and online on 11 June.

To view for free, you’ll be directed to the gallery after registering here.
