Lovely lambing weekends

There is probably no nicer day out at this time of year than getting up close with some new lambs. It’s a sign that winter may soon be coming to an end and that spring and longer days are edging closer.

There is probably no nicer day out at this time of year
than getting up close with some new lambs. It’s a sign that winter may
soon be coming to an end and that spring and longer days are edging
closer. Normally, Erddig, the National Trust property near Wrexham,
would be closed until early March.

But for the first time this year you
can visit the estate earlier and make a special trip to one of the
working tenant farms to meet the lambs and see the farm at work. The
Lambing Weekends at Erddig take place on February 5th/6th, and February
12th/13th.

The farm will be open to visitors from 10am to 4pm. “I hope
that people witnessing the true lambing experience on a real working
farm is a wonderful way to raise awareness of where our food comes from,
linking the field to the plate! “ says Neil Morris the farmer who is
very much looking forward to welcoming people to see the work that goes
on.

The House re-opens for 2011 on March 12th.
