Britten on the beach

WIN a a pair of tickets worth £100 to Britten’s greatest opera.Musicians

We’ve teamed up Aldeburgh Music to allow three lucky winners and their guests to experience a spectacular performance of Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes – performed on Aldeburgh beach!

The centenary of Aldeburgh Music’s founder Benjamin Britten will be a real highlight for 2013. One of the greatest composers of the 20th century, and also one of Suffolk’s greatest gifts to the world, this year will be the most widely celebrated anniversary of a British composer ever seen.

His 100th birthday is on 22 November, but the official celebrations have already started and will go on until August 2014, to include the concert seasons either side of the centenary year.

The 66th Aldeburgh Festival from 7-23 June features world premieres from six leading international composers co-commissioned by the Britten-Pears Foundation and the Royal Philharmonic Society. And Britten’s most famous opera comes home with concert performances at Snape Maltings Concert Hall, an outdoor production on Aldeburgh beach, and a dark journey through the Aldeburgh of Peter Grimes devised by Punchdrunk.

To win one of the three pairs of tickets to the wonderful performance on Aldeburgh beach, for Wednesday 19 June 8.30pm, simply fill in your details below.
