Wollaton Hall in Nottingham will host a very special outdoor cinema experience this September, with screenings of The Dark Knight Rises and Les Miserables as part of the Summer Nights Film Festival 2013.
Wollaton Hall, which was used to portray the grand ‘Wayne Manor’ in The Dark Knight Rises, has already garnered much attention due to its Hollywood role, and the Elizabethan mansion will provide a stunning backdrop for the screenings.
Set within a beautiful 500-acre deer park, the natural setting of Wollaton Hall is perfect for a night under the stars watching some of the world’s best cinema. Bring a picnic along, and prepare for a memorable night of movie-going in one of Nottinghamshire’s most beautiful locations.
Friday 6 September, 7pm: Les Miserables (12A)
This sweeping interpretation by Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper brings to life the classics I dreamed a dream, Bring him home and One day more, and features an Oscar-winning performance by Anne Hathaway.
Saturday 7 September, 7pm: The Dark Knight Rises (12A)
Christopher Nolan returns to Gotham City for a final go-around with Christian Bale’s Batman, also starring Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy, with scenes from the film shot at Wollaton Hall.
The Summer Nights Film Festival 2013 is produced by QUAD, Derby’s centre for art and film, and will tour to other iconic locations around the region.
