Win a two-night gourmet stay at a luxury spa hotel in the beautiful Lake District

Enter our competition to win a two-night gourmet stay for two people at The Wordsworth Hotel, a pretty 4-star spa hotel in the heart of Grasmere in the Lake District. With English country-house style and scenic views over the neighbouring mountains and lakes, the hotel makes the perfect base to explore this idyllic corner of England.

The lucky winner and their guest will be treated to a Champagne afternoon tea on arrival; a four-course dinner on the first night in the hotel’s Signature Restaurant; an eight-course taster menu in the Signature Restaurant on the final evening, with paired wines from the hotel’s cellar; and a full English breakfast each morning made with farm-fresh produce.

Each of the guest bedrooms and suites is individually designed, with luxurious touches such as Egyptian cotton sheets and Temple Spa amenities; premium rooms also offer the famous Grasmere Gingerbread, fluffy robes and slippers as standard.

The hotel’s award-winning Signature Restaurant serves both lunch and dinner, with delicious seasonal menus created using local produce. For traditional pub classics enjoyed with a glass of hand-pulls ale, the hotel’s Dove Bistro fits the bill nicely.

The Wordsworth Organic Spa makes a stay here even more special, and has an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi among its facilities, to soothe achy limbs after a day spent in the great outdoors; use of the spa facilities is included in the prize.

Grasmere is a wonderful location from which to explore the Lake District, flanked by two small lakes, or ‘meres’, Grasmere and Rydal Water. Fans of Wordsworth – after whom the hotel is named – can visit Dove Cottage, once home to the Romantic poet and his sister, now preserved as a museum, and Rydal Mount, which was the poet’s family home, and where he spent the majority of his life.
