It was 10 years ago today that Prince Charles and his bride Camilla emerged arm in arm from their civil wedding ceremony at the Guildhall in Windsor, smiling and waving to the thousands of people that had gathered outside the Berkshire building to catch a glimpse of the royal couple.

The Duchess wore an oyster silk coat and chiffon dress for her special day on 9 April 2005, which saw guests including Sir David Frost, Joanna Lumley, Rowan Atkinson, Kenneth Branagh, and Stephen Fry in attendance.

And to celebrate a decade of marriage, the couple will be spending their anniversary privately at Birkhall in Deeside, a property within HM the Queen‘s Balmoral estate, which was also the location for Charles and Camilla’s honeymoon and their first anniversary celebrations.

But being married for ten years is not all there is to celebrate, as since their wedding Camilla has also managed to significantly grow her own popularity and become a key member of the Royal Family, quite a contrast from her previous royal standing.

After all this time, Charles and Camilla have proven their loving bond and devotion to one another just as much as they’ve shown their dedication to crown and country.
