BRITAIN triumphs at British Travel Awards

BRITAIN has been named Best Holiday Magazine at the British Travel Awards 2013.BritainBTAMAAAA

The prestigious awards differ from many other travel prizes where a panel of judges have influence over the final results because the British Travel Award winners are chosen purely by consumer votes.

It is BRITAIN’s readers alone who have secured the win at the awards, which are widely referred to as the ‘Oscars of the travel industry’. Our sister title Cruise International picked up silver in the same category.

The awards were announced at a glittering gala dinner held in London last night (31 October).

There were 72 categories in the British Travel Awards 2013 and when voting closed on 30 September a record number of 1,268,458 votes had been cast, from all areas of Britain.

“This year more than one million votes were cast by consumers to determine the winners of the coveted British Travel Awards – making it the largest awards programme in the UK; to win is truly an accolade,” says British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton. “The travelling public regards the British Travel Awards winners’ logo as the benchmark for excellence.”

The entire team at BRITAIN are touched that fans of the magazine took the time to show their appreciation of our efforts and want to take the opportunity to thank all of our readers for their loyalty.
