Diamond Jubilee

To mark 60 years of Her Majesty’s reign, the entire nation will be celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee throughout 2012. The jubilations will centre around an extended weekend in 2012 on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th June but the preparations have already begun, with excitement being felt around the globe

The Queen, who will be aged 85 on Accession Day in 2012, will be the oldest monarch to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee. The only other British Monarch to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee to date is Queen Victoria, who was 77 when she celebrated hers in 1897
