Winners of the 2012 Cumbria Tourism Holiday Park of the year award and 2011 Gold finalists at Enjoy England, Woodclose Park stays a step ahead of the competition with its commitment to excellence and superb location.

Set within the beautiful valley of the River Lune between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Park, Woodclose is positioned in an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are a number of hard-standing and grass pitches for touring caravans and motor homes, a secluded camping field for tents, onsite self-catering wigwams for hire, as well as an exclusive holiday home and lodge development. Set within nine acres, the outlying fields provide habitats for a rich variety of animals, birds, flora and fauna. It is a quiet and serene place, located in a slight hollow leading down to the spectacular Devil’s Bridge and the picturesque market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.

The town is steeped in history with a 13th century charter for fairs, a school dating back to Elizabeth I, it even warrants a mention in the Domesday Book of 1086. It is easy to see why this landscape has inspired famous writers and artists with its cluster of pretty speciality shops, 17th and 18th century Inns, a fine Norman Church as well as the famous Devil’s Bridge.

The winner plus guest (and up to two children), will enjoy a three-night midweek self-catering holiday in one of the wonderful wigwams. The wigwams are sturdy, wooden camping cabins all comfortably equipped with foam mattresses (bring your own sleeping bag) and electricity for light, heating and electrical equipment.  Basically all you will need is a sense of adventure and those things you would take on a camping trip – just not the tent!
