HM The Queen Diamond Jubilee

To mark 60 years of the Queen’s reign the Diamond Jubilee will take place in 2012. The celebrations will centre around an extended weekend in 2012 on 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th June. The preparations have already begun, and the excitement and celebrations will last throughout 2012.

To mark the Diamond Jubilee, the V&A is holding an exhibition of portraits of Her Majesty by photographer Cecil Beaton between 8 February - 22 April 2012. There will be portraits depicting The Queen in her roles as princess, monarch and mother.

SS Brent, a WWII steam tug boat, is undergoing restoration to be part of The Queen's Jubilee celebrations. The 1,000 strong Thames flotilla to mark the celebration, will be one of the main events of the four-day bank holiday.
