You could be the new owner of beautiful, Edwardian family home nicknamed ‘Cosey Pigge’ by famous Prime Minister.
Winston Churchill’s old home has been put on the market for £3.5 million. Hosey Rigge, in Westerham, Kent, is a historic six-bedroom country home which dates back to the early 1900s.
Sir Winston Churchill rented the property from 1923 to 1934, while his nearby home of Chartwell was being renovated.
The property retains a wealth of period features with sash windows, panelled doors, open fireplaces and an impressive balustraded staircase.
The future war leader obviously enjoyed living in the elegant reception rooms and bedrooms with the south westerly views over countryside. It is believed he nicknamed the house ‘Cosey Pigge’ because it was smaller than the property he was having overhauled.
