Culture and festivities in abundance
The nationally-recognised Royal Leamington Spa Food and Drink Festival is the biggest event in the town’s calendar and attracts around 25,000 visitors from far and wide. The search to find the nation’s home-grown culinary superstar is a new highlight of this year’s free-to-attend celebration of local and regional food and drink being held in the Royal Pump Room Gardens on 6-7 September. It is just one of many edifying experiences for visitors to the town, from hiring a boat on the River Leam to following a heritage trail that encompasses the quirky tale of the Elephant Walk and discovering the source of the spa, to walking through the historic Jephson Gardens with its subtropical glasshouse. In the evening, why not take in a show at the Spa Centre, Loft Theatre or Assembly.

On the National Stage at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show
A garden inspired by Royal Leamington Spa was awarded a Silver Medal at this year’s world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show. In the year that the Pump Room Gardens celebrated their 200th anniversary, local floral designer Sarah Horne and garden designer Debbie Cooke created an enchanting exhibit to reflect the town’s historic association with beautiful gardens and horticulture as well as its Regency heritage, river and lakes. It will create a lasting legacy for the town with plans to recreate key features in one of the town’s gardens and to revive a flower event.
