WIN a Pudding Club indulgence!THE PUDDING CLUB is celebrating its 25th birthday this year and there are a variety of events taking place at its home – Three Ways House Hotel in the Cotswolds village of Mickleton.
Three Ways House Hotel (3-star) near Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire, has 48 individually-designed bedrooms – including seven pudding-themed rooms, an AA-rosette restaurant and the Randalls Bar-Brasserie. The Pudding Club was founded there in 1985, to prevent the demise of the great British pudding, which seemed, at that time, to be under threat from interlopers along the lines of the Black Forest Gateau and strawberry cheesecake. Meetings of the Pudding Club are generally held on the first and third Fridays of each month and attract pudding fans from around the world to sample up to seven puddings. The meetings are naturally very popular so you have to reserve your seat if you want to join in. Or you can sample puddings in the hotel's restaurants at other times.
As a testament to the success of the Pudding Club's campaigns, this great British dish has never been more popular and Puddling Club brand puddings are now on sale in the UK supermarkets Waitrose, and through their online delivery company, Ocado. For the 25th birthday, three new summer varieties have been added to the range: a steamed Rhubarb and Ginger Pudding with just a hint of ginger; a delicious Gooseberry and Elderflower Crumble, and Bramley Apple and Lemon Curd Pudding with a tangy combination of apple and citrus – just right for summer with a spot of cream or ice cream!
