COMPETITION WINNERS NEWS

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Knightsbridge facade
THE LUCKY WINNER of the competition in our June/July 2010 issue to win a luxury stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel in London is Wendy Pelech of British Columbia, Canada.

Wendy has won a two-night stay for two in a luxury Mandarin Junior Suite, with king-size bed and seating area, full English breakfast each morning and dinner for two in Bar Boulud, London on one evening.

The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is currently celebrating its 10th birthday, although the imposing building on Knightsbridge dates back to 1889 (it was originally a private residence!). It has the world class shopping of Knightsbridge on its doorstep and leafy Hyde Park at its rear, so is a great place to stay in the capital. There are exquisite materials and handcrafted finishes in each of the hotel’s rooms and suites, and two new restaurants have opened this year, including the Bar Boulud, which features the award-winning cuisine of three Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud. The second, opening on 1 December, is the first London restaurant for Heston Blumenthal (of the marvellous Fat Duck restaurant at Bray in Berkshire), which will bring the experience of six Michelin stars under one roof.

Treatment room in The Spa

And for those in need of some relaxation, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental is a haven of tranquillity blending East and West to offer world-renowned holistic therapies. Experience a series of tailor-made treatments known as Time Rituals draw on exotic therapies and philosophies from around the world.

If you weren't lucky enough to win a stay there this time, why not plan your own visit. For further details visit: www.mandarinoriental.com/london/
