David Essex

FOLLOWING THE hit national tour, David Essex brings his musical All The Fun Of The Fair for its West End debut to London’s Garrick Theatre from 20 April to 5 September. All the Fun of the Fair is written by David Essex, who leads the cast as funfair owner Levi Lee, and is directed by David Gilmore. The cast also includes Christopher Timothy (best known still for his role as James Herriott in the television version of All Creatures Great and Small) and Louise English, and Levi's son is played by Michael Pickering. The soundtrack features many of David Essex's best-known songs, so fans will enjoy a good singalong. Inspired by one of his most successful albums: All the Fun of the Fair, David Essex plays Levi Lee, recently widowed and father of a rebellious teenage son.  Danger and mysticism lurk in the future, as predicted by the gypsy fortune teller who is in love with Levi. Dodgems and motorbikes, crafty cons and candy floss, fairground horses and fights, along with unrequited love, romance and rock and roll bring out the carnival atmosphere in this underbelly world of fairground life.
